Cookie Policy

1. What cookies and local storage are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Local storage is a related browser mechanism that lets a site keep small amounts of data on your device between visits. We use both, but only as described below. We do not use advertising cookies. The only cookie set by another company on its own domain is Microsoft's MUID cookie, which comes with Clarity (section 3).

2. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Website. Google Analytics is always on for all visits; there is no consent banner. It sets the following cookies:

• _ga — distinguishes users for analytics. Approximately 13 months.
• _ga_<container> — persists session state for the Analytics property. Approximately 13 months.

3. Session analytics cookies (Microsoft Clarity)

We use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use the Website, through heatmaps and session replays. Clarity records clicks, scrolls and page movement. Text you type into forms is masked and is not recorded. Like Google Analytics, it is always on and shares its data with our Google Analytics property. It sets the following cookies:

• _clck — keeps the same Clarity user ID across visits. Approximately 1 year.
• _clsk — joins the pages of one visit into a single session replay. Approximately 1 day.
• MUID — set by Microsoft on its own domains (clarity.ms, bing.com) to recognise browsers. Approximately 1 year.

4. Product analytics and session recordings (PostHog)

We use PostHog to understand which parts of the Website work and which do not, and to test changes to the Website with a share of visitors. It records named events (for example, that a page was viewed or a form was started) and session recordings of how a page was used. In recordings, everything typed into a form field is masked, and the purchase form, the login window and your account pages are not recorded at all. Like the tools above, it is always on and there is no consent banner. It stores the following in your browser:

• ph_<project key>_posthog — a cookie and a local storage item holding a random visitor ID, your session and the experiment group you were placed in. Approximately 1 year.

5. Functional local storage

The following items are stored in your browser's local storage to make the Website work. They are functional, not advertising, and are not shared for marketing:

• Authentication session — keeps you signed in (Supabase auth session).
• Preferences — remembers your on-site preferences.
• Catalogue cache — a cached copy of the product catalogue for faster loading.

6. How to opt out of analytics

You can control or refuse analytics cookies in the following ways:

• Adjust or clear cookies through your browser settings, and block cookies for this site.
• Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
• We honour a Do-Not-Track (DNT) or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where your browser sends one.

Blocking functional local storage may sign you out or reduce Website performance, but will not prevent you from browsing.
