Before a single brick goes down, you bow to the land. You hope for a strong house on it. You want the build to go up without delays, and without anyone getting hurt.

The classical texts on muhurta shastra give the foundation its own muhurat. Everything built on the plot dates from that hour. We read those rules for the city the plot is in, on its own sunrise, and fit them to the days your contractor can start.
