Graha Shanti muhurat: dates for a planetary remedy puja

Graha Shanti, everyday called a planetary remedy puja or dosha nivaran, is performed when a planet's period is weighing on you and the classical remedy is a puja, japa or havan for that graha. The remedy has its own timing, so a shubh muhurat is sought for it; a शांति पूजा मुहूर्त placed in the wrong hour is generally deferred rather than rushed. A Graha Shanti is a puja, japa or havan directed at a single planet, or at a combination such as Kaal Sarp or Manglik, performed by a priest with the appropriate mantra count, samidha and daan. Families hold one when a difficult mahadasha or antardasha begins, before a major undertaking, or when an astrologer has read a specific affliction in the chart. It is usually a half-day rite, though a full mantra count can run over several sittings on consecutive days at the same hour.
